A little about me
Hi, I'm Kate
I've always had a huge passion for fitness, movement and the way it makes us feel, both physically and mentally. Creating Fit Shed Matakana has given me the opportunity to share that passion in a welcoming, supportive space.
I'm a mum of two busy, active kids, and I love being outdoors, whether it's surfing, hiking, playing tennis or simply getting out and moving. For me, exercise isn't just about being fit or looking a certain way. It's about feeling strong, having energy and being able to enjoy the things we love for years to come. I believe strength training, conditioning and Pilates play a huge part in helping us move well, prevent injuries and age well.
I'm a Level 4 qualified, REPs-registered personal trainer, with Level 1 and 2 Mat Pilates qualifications through Suna Pilates and a HIIT Pilates certification through HiYoga. I've also owned and run a busy BFT studio in Auckland, and I'm continuing to develop my knowledge around supporting women through perimenopause and menopause.
I love helping people discover what their bodies are capable of, build confidence and develop healthy habits that last the distance.
But Fit Shed is about more than exercise. I love the sense of community here in Matakana and wanted to create a space where everyone feels welcome, supported and part of something.
If you leave the Shed feeling a little stronger, a little happier and a little more confident than when you arrived, then I'm doing what I set out to do.
